Bayside Robotics July 2021
For the July Bayside event, Kerfuffle was reassembled and entered into the division. While its usual smothering technique was effective, the lifting system was once again severed from the bot resulting in a loss. The arm was reattached best as possible and the arm sanded down as best as possible to adjust, but no such luck. The design is effective, but a better way to support the arm is necessary.
MACRO October 2021
For the October event Kerfuffle was modeled after Batman as part of Halloween decorations. To ensure this new look doesn’t come off, the lifting piece was made into two pieces. The intention was to glue the pieces together and to trust the adhesion strength of the hot glue to keep the pieces together instead of the adhesion from the layer lines of the print. With both ideas at play, Kerfuffle ascended to another top finish! I really like the ability to style that comes with 3D printing so I will both keep this shape on future robot designs and add some to other machines too!
